https://www.expedia.com/Perth.d180013.Destination-Travel-Guides A modern city, Perth is the gem of Australia’s west coast and the capital of Western Australia. This friendly metropolis boasts pristine beaches, clear water, and plenty of coastline – not to mention an abundance of nature and mineral resources. Start your day of Perth sightseeing with a walk through Kings Park, which is larger than New York’s Central Park and home to the Western Australia Botanic Garden. More than 3,000 species of Western Australia’s plant life, including vibrant flowers, are on display here. Most of the park consists of bushland, which means lots of wildlife and quite a few walking trails. After a morning of reflection in the park, head over to the Swan Bell Tower to enjoy a spectacular view of the city. ...

It is the fourth most populous city in Australia, with an estimated population of 1.9 million living in Greater Perth. Perth was originally founded by Captain James Stirling in 1829 as the administrative centre of the Swan River Colony, and gained city status in 1856 (currently vested in the smaller City of Perth). The most important places to visit in Perth are: Kings Park, Hillarys Boat Harbour, Scarbourough Beach, Perth Zoo, Subiaco Oval, Fremantle Prison, The Art Gallery Of Western Australia, West Australia Cricket Ground, Western Australia Museum, Scitech and many more. This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money,...
Had the chance to fly to Perth for work but it felt like I was on a holiday every single day! It was my first time to travel outside Asia. It was overwhelming at first (felt like I was the only Asian LOL) but I had the best time ever. Couldn't be more grateful to my boss for this opportunity :D Hopefully, a couple of years from now.. I could move to Perth and settle down there for good. Ahh, beach everyday! *fingers crossed*
Perth is a must visit if you're thinking of a trip over to Western Australia, the beautiful coastline and Perth attractions make it the ideal place to take family, friends or your partner. The city is easy to navigate, with everything fairly close, Hay and Murray Street is home to big name shops, cinemas and the GPO. Kings Park and Botanic Gardens are a beautiful place for a stroll and offers some great views of the city. The Botanic Gardens features over 3,000 species and the Rio Tinto Naturescape is great for the kids. The coastline is one of Perth's draws, and if the heat is getting to you head for a dip at the golden sands on Cottesloe Beach, City Beach or Scarborough. Fremantle is located at the mouth of the Swan River, boasting historical buildings, the Roundhouse and the Maritime Mu...

The Margaret River region runs down the Western Australian coastline for over 80 miles, and stretches inland for a further 20. Busselton marks the beginning of one of Australia’s most scenic drives, Caves Road, which gets its name from the incredible limestone caves which honeycomb the region. Caves Road winds inland, through picturesque villages and historic timber towns, before arriving at the region’s main settlement, Margaret River. Surrounded by coasts on three sides, and enjoying virtually rain-free summers, as a wine-growing region, Margaret River has been compared to France’s famous Bordeaux region. Cruise from cellar door to cellar door, sampling some of the most exciting Chardonnays, Shirazs and Cabernet Sauvignons on the planet. At Margaret River’s northern end is Cape Natur...

The best things in life are (almost!) free, and that is certainly the case if you head to Perth in Western Australia. As this video shows, you don't need a bulging wallet to enjoy what the city has to offer, for example: City Walking Tours and Trails Walking tours of the city and the City Walks and Trails maps are the best way to explore the Perth CBD and surrounding areas. i-City volunteers guide free walking tours each week day, departing from the i-City Information Kiosk in Murray Street Mall near Forrest Place. The tours take up to 2 hours, and you can join in or leave anywhere along the way. You can also do the walking tours yourself by picking up the walking tour map and comprehensive guide from the i-City kiosk. The walks and trails intercept the city's free CAT bus servic...

Presenter(s): Josh Stewart URL: https://lca2014.linux.org.au/schedule/30150/view_talk 'Hacker' is a term we generally associate with the technical community, but long before electronics reached the average home, the same curiosity and creativity were hallmarks of another passionate hobbyist: The Petrolhead. In this talk I'll discuss the development of a hacker focussed, open source engine management system (EMS) based on the arduino platform. Whilst there have been a number of projects to develop DIY or 'build it yourself' engine management (With varying levels of openness), none have focussed on making the concepts of what is normally a black box device as simple and accessible as possible. Rather than focussing on maximum performance or widest compatibility, this projects highest prior...
In this trip report, we look at an Emirates Business Class flight from Dubai International Airport to Sydney Kingsford-Smith Airport on an Airbus A380-800. The video starts off with me disembarking EK 90, which arrives from Geneva 2.5 hours late. Due to the late arrival, I need to head straight to the gate for boarding and thus don’t have the opportunity to visit the Emirates Business Class lounge in Dubai. Upon arriving at the gate, I find EK 414 already in the midst of boarding. I use the priority-boarding lane, then take a lift up a level to board the A380 upper deck using a separate jetway. The Emirates A380 upper deck houses the First and Business Class cabins. On this flight, I'm seated in the larger of the 2 Business Class cabins. The cabin is arranged in an industry-standard 1-2-...

The Perth prog-rock mavericks are Moshcam alumni. Out and about with the Yaesu FT857D and Terlin Perth Plus mobile set up. This QSO was done with the Yaesu FT857D running 100W. At 5:23 where I lost my train of thought and I mention the guy that puts out a terrific signal from his mobile setup, I was going to mention what he did to reduce the noise from his Holden Colorado. He electrically strapped all of the vehicle body panels together and had the injectors etc covered in copper sheet and connected to the body. He told me it worked a treat, and I've heard him many times mobile on 40m, so he's probably not exaggerating.

This is becoming one of the largest antique and flea market areas around, but it's only open on the 1st weekend of the month. It is in several huge warehouses built in the late 1800's located in the west bottoms an old industrial district west of downtown. It wasn't as crowded today due to the heat, and also today was the start of the big All-Star games. This is just a small portion of it, only 3 buildings. It takes hours to go through these, requires lots of walking as many are on the 2nd floors, and one has several floors. I filmed more but due to the length I will have to put them in a 2nd video, and I moved the camera too fast trying to video more in less time. It was also 105 degrees today, but due to the buildings having 2 ft thick walls and over 20ft high ceilings it was comf...
